PDF Toolkit + App Reviews
Great app! Its extremely simple to use and yet multi-functional. It took literally a few seconds to figure it out. Exactly what I needed for all my work with PDFs.
Doesn’t completely work
I bought this application because I needed to extract images from a PDF. It doesn’t work, or at least not on OS X version 10.10 “Yosemite”. Beware.
If you need to get basic things done in bulk without bells and whistles, it does the job well. However, if you are looking for more advanced features (I saw them in PC versions), like name files in a specific way or process the files while extraction is on-going, it does not provide that. I was looking for tool like this as other paid versions for some reason do not provide page extraction functionality, like pdfopenpro.
圧縮率は他の類似ソフト(App Storeにある4,5種の類似ソフトと比較)と変わらないが、PDF内の画像の圧縮が最もきれい。 A resultant pdf was almost the same size compared with similar softwares in App Store but a quality of compressed picuters in a pdf file was much better than those of other softwares.
I expected more from this application. Most of the time it doesn’t even match the performance of pdftk. The problem of large pdf files is becoming increasingly important but I don’t know any application which addresses it satisfactorily. I respect the other opinions but my experience was negative and I cannot recommend it.
We’ve been using PDF Toolkit for several years and now PDF Toolkit +. We compress PDFs daily. Easy to use, never fails, and very responsive customer service on the rare occassion we had a question. Highly recommended.
Does what it advertises: PDF file compressions, concatenation, and splitting. It does it well, but you get a no thrills app. I would recommend this app to anyone who needs to perform what this app does.
Did not work
I bought this hoping it would extract text and all it did was save a blank text file..couldnt find the text. refund?
I was having trouble getting my Canon Pixma MG7120 to make it through scanning a full document without crapping out halfway through with a communication error and forcing me to start a new PDF file to store the remaining pages. So, I figured I could use Preview (Mavericks) to contatenate the two. Not so much. You’re supposed to be able to contatenate PDFs by opening the first PDF enabling Thumbnails view and just dragging the 2nd file where you want it in the Thumbnails pane. It appears to do just that but the saved PDF only contains the first file! ARGH! PDF Toolkit + does contatenation perfectly and easily!
HANDY DANDY GOOD
This things has saved me so many times, it’s efficeint and easy to use. WELL WORTH IT!
I wasted my money - I was looking for a PDF reader that could do all of things this program probably does quite well. In fact this is NOT a reader. You cannot extract pages from a document as you review it because you can’t review it! Beware!
The interface for combining files is good - pretty much what you would expect from this type of app. It could be better, however, if the filenames of the files to be combined where used as entries for a „table of contents“ in the new file. I like the compression feature as well. I have long been looking for something that would allow me to compress files without destroying their readability (which seems to be all I ever get when i compress using Preview). It is especially nice that the app shows you the file sizes to be obtained from each level of compression before you actually compress the file.
at work we have Acrobat Pro, so we can do whatever we want with PDF files. Its too $$$ for home though, and this tools does a lot of the Acrobat niceness for a lot cheaper! support is good, they responded fast to my question
This soft has saved me so many times, it’s efficient and easy to use. WELL WORTH IT! I merge many pdf files, compress them to send by email when they’re too big or split them into smaller pieces.
PDF Toolkit+ is AWESOME!! I am a Graphic Designer who is often given PDFs and asked to use the images within. I had a paid version of Adobe Acrobat CS4 but when I upgraded my computer my paid version wouldnt install and the people at Adobe just blew me off as if it was something I was doing wrong. So without any way of extracting images Ive been struggling ever since. But not anymore, now I have PDF Toolkit+. In fact it works way better then Adobe Acrobat at extracting images and text but at a fraction of the price. I give this program five stars.
Gets the job done!
Simple, easy, fast and effective. Thank you for such an effective application!
Great app
Great app, I use it to combine pdf files in one file. Very useful.
Well Designed, Easy to Use, Priced Right
PDF Toolkit+ is a great solution to working with PDF files. My specfic interest was compression without loss of quality - this app delivered!
Tried using the OSX compress utility, but that is useless. Excel and Word files compress slightly, but PDF files do not compress AT ALL! It may be OK for combining files into a single file, but thats about it. Not what I need. Bought this app (only $1.99 after all), and was amazed on the first try. A 20mb PDF was compressed to 1.0mb at 300dpi, much smaller at lower dpi. Also anxious to try the Concatenate and Extract page features, which I can only do with Acrobat Writer (which costs a bundle!). No regrets at all. *** After posting I noticed that the post says its by Nickname_Snickname….. WHO IS THAT? Have I been hacked?
Works as advertised
did the job - extracted images - good value!!!
